The Coaches
Mark Palmer
Founder of MP Sports, Mark works as a PE teacher and Strength and Conditioning coach at Wilson’s. He also assists in the coordinating of the Wilson’s football programme and is the school representative for the AELTC Wimbledon Ball Boy programme. He has an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science as well as a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, both from Loughborough University. He has previously worked at Norwich City FC in the sports science department and played for Ipswich Town Academy FC.
Danny Dudley
Danny is the Director of Sport at Wilson’s School who has a BSC Honours Degree in Sports, Fitness and Coaching. He holds coaching qualifications in various sports including Football, Rugby, Basketball and Handball. In his spare time Mr Dudley plays semi-professional football and has made over 500 Isthmian League career appearances to date for clubs including Chipstead, Whyteleafe, Corinthian-Casuals, Carshalton Athletic and Horsham FC. Mr Dudley has also had great success within football coaching, winning the ESFA National Schools cup on two occasions.
Sam Ford
Sam is the Head of Games and Athletics at Wilson’s School who gained his PE teaching degree from Oxford Brookes. He is a Level 2 RFU coach, and also holds coaching qualifications in Rowing, Athletics and Weight Lifting. As a Rugby player he won the County Championship in consecutive years for Surrey and Epsom RFC. As a rower, Sam was a British Universities Champion, represented Great Britain at U23 level, and has competed five times at Henley Royal Regatta.
John Fry
John is Head of Cricket at Wilson’s School. He is an ECB level 3 Performance Coach, Head Coach at Sutton Cricket Club, and also a Performance Coach for Surrey County Cricket Club. John played representative cricket for the Surrey Championship, Surrey Cricket Board and the Club Cricket Conference and was selected to tour Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and West Indies. He scored 18,000 1st XI runs in the Surrey Championship league.
Barry Wilde
Barry is one of our football coaches at MP Sports and at Wilson’s School. He holds the prestigious UEFA A Coaching Licence, a qualification he gained at St. Georges Park. Barry has an excellent reputation as a scholar of football, an excellent team builder & teacher of the game, who coaches innovative, interactive and challenging sessions and encourages players to be creative and expressive without the fear of failure.
John Molyneux
John runs the Wilson’s Badminton coaching programme and over the last 20 years has had great success. The school have won 3 National finals and reached the National schools final on numerous occasions. Wilson's has also represented England in the World Schools Championships. At Wilson’s there are National squad players and County players in various year groups. John has represented Surrey at every level and is currently National Masters champion and European Masters champion for his age group.
Luke Griffiths
Luke is a racket sport specialist who is a qualified coach in both Tennis and Badminton. Luke is the current Racketlon World Champion in Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. He has also represented England in Badminton and competed in international tournaments. As an Old Wilsonian himself he adds a wealth of competitive playing experience in various racket sports to the coaching team.
